PLANNING OF THE COMMERCIAL AND PARKING AREAS OF FORO ITALICO, ROMA (2006)
The project emphasizes the character of the “Parco del Foro Italico” as a sport, cultural and leisure attraction of national and international significance. The project involves the design of the new axis of Viale delle Olimpiadi, consisting of two paths: the “axis of future” and the “axis of history”. The connection between the two axes is a new fountain, “the obelisk of water”, which acts as a urban hinge around which there are the new commercial area in hypogeum. The Club House designed on the terrace of tennis provides a multipurpose space that can harmonize synergically athletes’ matches, events and entertainment. As a gathering and refreshment place for the people who gravitate around the sports facilities of Foro Italico, it was planned as a modular structure made of steel and glass, with outdoor spaces
